Olympus

An excursion to myth, history and the incomparable nature of the highest mountain of Greece.

Olympus, mythical dwelling of Gods and Muses, was the first National Park declared in Greece in 1938. Its highest peak, Mytikas, reaches the height of 2.918 m. More than 1.700 different plants have been registered, consisting the 25% of the Greek flora, and more than 200 species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. On its foothills survive the ruins of glorious ancient settlements, places where the Olympian Gods, the Muses and mythical Orpheus were worshiped. Precipitous peaks, gorges, impetuous waterfalls, lakes with crystal-clear waters, forests of beech and oak trees, fir, black pine, Heldreich’s pine and a wide range of endemic flora species create a unique landscape of extreme adventure and natural beauty.

Hiking, canyoning, visits to mountain refuges, archaeological sites and museums offer a complete experience on the legendary Mountain of Gods, an endless source of awe, inspiration and unparalleled charm.
